I absolutely hate getting my picture taken. It has nothing to do with how I look (I know I am not 25 or a size 0). I just can’t stand posing. I don’t like stiff, unnatural poses that make people look like they are severe, intense, unfriendly or about to be led off to the guillotine. About 10 years ago, I had a professional picture taken by Joan Heffler. I remembered how pleasant she made the experience and how awesome my picture turned out. I received so many compliments. I needed to refresh my picture and knew exactly the person I was going to call – Joan Heffler. Even though I am not the best subject to photograph, Joan made it fun and captured “me” – the glint in my eye, the ready smile, and the approachable nature. That’s who I am – so I don’t want to look unfriendly, stern, or overly glamorous in my corporate picture. Joan will help you to select the shot that captures your personality, not just your outer appearance. And, she makes you look great – each and every time. Thank you, Joan, for not just being an amazing photographer, but for being an amazing, “real” person. And, if you listen to Joan about your makeup, hair, and the clothing you should wear (all hints in her “preparing for the session” section of her website), your picture comes out better than you might have imagined – this lady knows her stuff!
Echoes of our weddings still chime through our days. We are truly newlyweds in our delight. It was wonderful to have you there ~ and with camera in hand. The pictures are great! I’m so glad you captured the waltz ~ you were the only one who did. Your photographs are clearly at a high artistic level ~ you saw the subtle, the beautiful and the meaningful.
